It's really hard to teach composition because there isn't necessarily a formula, but Elena created steps that I could follow that allowed me to stay creative without feeling overwhelmed. Elena creates a truly safe environment where you can explore and create without feeling pressured. She allowed me to get to know a completely new side of the composer, which I don't know when I would have found without her.

We will do well if you are looking for a teacher who will create a personalized space for you to find your own voice and create authentic music. I work with composition students (of all ages) and teach music THROUGH writing and the student's passion. Students learn and absorb information quickly when taught through music and genres that excite them, so I create a curriculum around each student's interests.
Specializations:
Singers who don't feel like good singers. I grew up thinking I had a terrible voice, I always felt tense when I sang and no amount of vocal practice changed anything. I finally discovered Somatic Voicework, which focuses on vocal sciences and physical awareness, and it brought out my powerful voice, pleasant tone, and ability to sing in a way I never had before. I have trained many students in the same method and continue to witness amazing results.
Composition. For anyone starting out as a new creator, for anyone with songs but need help learning structure/lyrics/melody, for anyone who writes regularly and wants to improve their skills in general, or for anyone who is ready to release their music on Spotify and iTunes.
Piano. All levels. Learn the basic chords for your songs, master your favorite classical or pop song, or train rigorously with the classical method.
Additionally: music theory, learning to listen, basic production, art branding and marketing, preparing tracks for publication on Spotify and iTunes.

Knowledgeable and easy to learn
Elena taught me how to use my diaphragm more when I sing and how to breathe in when I start to lose air. She was very patient and was able to adjust the lesson a bit depending on how I was reacting to it. She was very easy to work with and I learned a lot.

My children have been taking classes with Elena for several months now. They are 10 and 14 years old. So naturally my life is hectic and planning can be a hassle at times. In addition to being super sweet, Elena is very understanding and flexible when it comes to planning children. Girls really enjoy sessions with her and she gives them good feedback and "homework" to do. Thanks for sorting out my crazy schedule Elena!!
